We have a new look but it is the same magazine you have come to enjoy over the years. Changes in the internet and security have mandated a newer version of the templates we have been using. So feel free to explore the magazine. If you are new here the magazine was created, since 2007, to bring you the latest CMM information including what's new, training in specific softwares, special editions, etc… Check the About Us section under the Home menu to find out more about us.

  • Dimensional Measurement with Precision Measuring Equipment

    Overview: Download course description

    This 2-day classroom course is part of our dimensional metrology curriculum and is designed for individuals new to the manufacturing environment who need to use and care for basic precision measuring equipment. This course is also excellent for those needing a refresher in dimensional measurement or those looking to expand their skills with more diverse or precise measuring equipment. This course covers an introduction to industrial measurement and instruments such as gage blocks, steel rules, calipers, micrometers, depth micrometers, dial indicators, and height gages. This course covers equipment principles, measuring techniques, and best practices for the use of dimensional measuring equipment. Participants will have extensive hands on use of the gages and instruments measuring actual parts. The specific measuring instruments covered, including the use of metric instruments, is flexible to address the needs of the individual students.

     
  • ASTM International announces additive manufacturing training course

    ASTM International’s Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence (CoE) has announced a three-day training course that will focus on the basic concepts of the additive process chain.

    The course will be held between March 10-12 at Auburn University in Alabama and give participants the opportunity to pick up ASTM's 'Basic AM Certificate'. Sessions will be led by experts from industry, FDM processregulatory agencies and academia and relate theory to real-world scenarios as experienced by industrial users of 3D printing technology. The course is available to those in government, industry and academia with an interest in 3D printing.

    Weatherford, TX – January 27, 2020 – The Coordinate Metrology Society (CMS), the eminent membership association for today's industrial measurement workforce, announced the launch of the industry’s first Level-One and Level-Two Certifications for traditional coordinate measuring machine (CMM) professionals. Applicants for the CMS Level-One Certification must submit an application, meet eligibility requirements, sign the CMS code of ethics, and pass a peer review.
