Today I Learned about the DMIS Slot command

 

Command Syntax:

F(name)=FEAT/CPARLN, dir, type, coord, x(r), y(a), z(h), i1, j1, k1, i2, j2, k2, len, wid

 

Parameters:

dir = INNER this is a inside slot,  OUTER this is an outside slot 

type = ROUND slot is radius ended, FLAT slot is square

coord = CART rectangular coordinates, POL polar coordinates

x(r) = the nominal X coordinate (R-Radius if the coord option is POL) position for the slot

y(a) = the nominal Y coordinate (A-Angle if the coord option is POL) position for the slot

z(h) = the nominal Z coordinate (H-Height if the coord option is POL) position for the slot

i1 = X vector component of the plane of the arc

j1 = Y vector component of the plane of the arc

k1 = Z vector component of the plane of the arc

i2 = X vector component of the plane of the arc

j2 = Y vector component of the plane of the arc 

k2 = Z vector component of the plane of the arc

len = length of slot

wid = width of slot

 

The command syntax should look something like this:

F(SLT1)=FEAT/CPARLN,INNER,ROUND,CART,-1.4,-1,-0.1,0,0,1,-1,0,0,1.5,0.5

 

This example defines an round slot to be measured at X = -1.4, Y = -1.0, Z= -0.10 as shown. The slot is in the Z work plane so the vector is 0, 0, 1 and the slot has an orientation normal of -X (-1, 0, 0). The slot length is 1.5 (1.0 plus 0.25 radius on each side)
